Who creates, and why.
Decoyed Monolith is the experimental musical project of Teivor — Gustavo A. Rivas L. (b. Santiago, 1990) — Chilean musician and producer.
Active since 2025, DM unfolds as a sonic landscape in constant evolution, crossing post-synthwave, ambient, IDM, and industrial — saturated with cinematic atmospheres, dystopian scenarios, and cyberpunk and science-fiction imagery.
Before DM, Teivor spent time as a drummer between 2019 and 2025 — some covers and shows across various group formats — that laid the rhythmic foundation on which the project is built today. In parallel, and from earlier on, he cultivated a sustained interest in a broad range of electronic music, with a leaning toward its darker territories.
Years playing other people’s music also left behind the need for a space of his own: a place to process lived experiences, technological tensions, and contradictions of modern life, under a vision without intermediaries — anchored in the dystopian imagery and cinematic atmospheres that give the project its shape. DM is that space.
The shift brought with it the learning of an entire craft: composition, production, sound design, mixing, and mastering. Every piece of DM is built entirely from Teivor’s studio — from first sketch to final master — a laborious and rewarding process of continual learning that is part of the project’s language.
DM takes shape as a sonic anthology: each piece functions as a chapter inside a universe that grows slowly. Releases are published independently.
